Net-working : Promoting and influencing appropriate macro level policies &programmes through collective work. Involvement and promotion of Campaigns like Campaign Against Child Labour (CACL), Campaign Against Child Trafficking (CACT), Forum for Promotion of Child Participation (FPCP), Federation of Children’s Movements for Right to Participation (FCMRP) and other CSOs.

It has been involved in promoting change and development for the communities to become socially aware, self-reliant in all aspect and towards a life with dignity, equity with people’s participation at all levels. Interesting, Innovative, Creative and Participatory methodologies are very much part and parcel of all our programmes and activities.
A ‘Multi-pronged strategy with Rights Approach’ has been adopted in all its programmes and actions. Gender is a cross-cutting issue for CSED. Another unique feature of our organisation is that it’s micro, mezzo and macro level linkages and involvement. It has been not only active members of campaigns like Campaign Against Child Labour (CACL), Campaign Against Child Trafficking (CACT), Forum for Promotion of Child Participation (FPCP) but also led such campaigns at the state and national levels.
(i) Working with the issue of Adolescent and Women workers in Textile Industry - Preventive Strategies in 4 Source Districts – Campaign and Advocacy Work in the Destination Districts including a 24 x 7 Toll-Free Helpline and providing Legal and Counseling Support.
(ii) Another interesting and challenging Project on “Sexuality and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) among 15-18 years children, 19-24 years Youths and parents through the concept of ‘Peer Buddies’ including... a) Child Sexual Abuse b) Sexual Harassment and Violence against Women c) Menstrual Hygiene and Social Stigma.
(iii) Community-based Child Rights Programmes like eradication of Child Labour, Child Marriage and Promotion of Education.
(iv) A Pilot Project titled “Our Earth… …Our Hope” – Environment Protection/Safeguard as pre-requisite for Ensuring Child Rights – specifically working towards the eradication of polythene bags, open defecation, Parthenium plants and Seemai Karuvelam trees.
(v) Running a 24 x 7 Child Helpline – 1098 for Tirupur district in Tamilnadu. This project is initiated and supported by the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD), Government of India.
(vi) Managing a 24 x 7 Child Help Desk (CHD) in Coimbatore Railway Station, Tamilnadu. This is the joint venture of the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) and Ministry of Railways. The objective is to ensure Care & Protection, Security & well-being of runaway, unaccompanied and trafficked children who come in contact with Railways with a special focus on Migrant children and youths.
